But, this luxury is not had by all. This is a reality that was made clear to me when I read The Blog of Bill Gates (here). Bill Gates posted some stark images of hospitals delivering babies by candlelight and students studying in the street using the street lamps for light to read. He also posted a picture of the world at night to demonstrate the disparity between the use of light in wealthy and poor countries. All of which are posted below. The first step is to stop using so much energy by saying goodbye to incandescent light bulbs! Switching old incandescent bulbs for energy efficient Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) and Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) can save energy and money.
