13TRADIE – Your Friend in the Trade has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Journalism student who is passionate about quality journalism, undertaking research, conducting interviews and writing stories for our local business.
 
Based in Canberra and reporting to the Communications Manager. The position focusses on working with the Communication Manager to develop interesting and accurate content for 13TRADIE’s websites, social media and customer base.
 
The key responsibilities of this position include:
 
Write stories accurately, succinctly, clearly and in a timely fashion
Interview subjects effectively
Take high-quality photos that are interesting and engaging
Generate a steady flow of stories
Work productively in a small team environment.
 
To be successful in this position, you will:
 
Be passionate about writing
Have experience using social media
Pride yourself on your attention to detail, particularly grammar.
Present in a professional manner.
 
Be enrolled as a 3rd year Journalism student or similar with at least a credit average looking to gain practical experience.

Casual Junior Graphic Designer

Casual Junior Graphic Designer
 
13TRADIE – Your Friend in the Trade has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Graphic Design student who is passionate about quality graphic design.
 
Based in Canberra and reporting to the Communications Manager. The position focusses on working with the Communication Manager to develop design material for 13TRADIE’s websites, social media and marketing campaigns.
 
The key responsibilities of this position include designing:
Logos, banners, advertisements, flyers, promotional material and other media for our local business.
 
To be successful in this position, you will:
Be able to create designs in various formats
Create impactful diagrams
Incorporate layout and design fundamentals
Be highly skilled with Adobe Creative Suite as well as PowerPoint (including animations).
Own a computer capable of running required software is needed, which needs to be supplied by the candidate.
 
No previous experience is required, however an unpaid mockup of a DL size flyer and a mockup of our websites home page will be required to be submitted along with your resume. This is to ensure the candidate is able to design at a reasonable standard.
